Here’s a shout out from Tramore, Co Waterford.
Today the team got to the grind. After morning devotions
with David Wilson and daughter Rachel, the team left to do some magazines. They
covered a lot of ground in only a few short hours, and should be able to a lot
done before the team leaves on Thursday.
David and Rachel joined with the group for lunch, and then we all prepared for
some open air ministry. We set up in the Waterford town square, but the usual
spot would have interfered with a local café, so the team found another
spot.A pan flute band was serenading the gospel in the background, making most
places hard to hear in.
While the paintboard was being set up and the first painting prepared (Nathan
and Tim flipped for first go) Jen, Kassi, and Jerry sang and played the guitar,
which sounded great.
When the drawing was ready, Tim drew in a group of school students to the
painting (students were off early due to a bank holiday). Most listened fairly
intently and all of them took literature and CD’s, it was a great encouragement
considering how the paintboard has gone so far in the open-air meetings the
team has done. A few of those same
students came back later to see more paintings.
Tim prepared the next paintboard, the team started playing again, while tracts
were being handed out. Operating like a well oiled machine, it was a great day
for evangelism in Waterford. Tim talked to two men Tony and Darren who had been
watching the paintboard for a while. Tim drew in a big crowd with the next
painting, but most were disruptive and left, but a few stuck around. While
the preaching was going on others were busy tracting and most people seemed
receptive to tracts, Bethany, Jen and Rachel were faithfully handing those
out. After the second paintboard a few
good conversations began. Ben got talking with a man named Johnny who was very
open to everything, and even seemed willing to come to meetings! Another group
of school-kids stuck around for the final paintboard, but only two of them
stayed around and talked, a girl named
Emma and her friend who didn’t give his name. Overall a great day for evangelism in
Waterford.
After all this the team treated the Wilsons to dinner and
enjoyed a great time of fellowship. Kassi got trapped in the washroom area
while trying to leave.
Before going to the Wilson’s house the team took a brief
tour of the coast and saw some of the beautiful sights that God has to offer.
Some of the team walked along the beach getting a taste of the cold ocean.
A great day for the TnT Team! Your continued prayer and
encouragement are greatly appreciated!
God Bless
